The Mississippi River

I was playing in the sand
on the bank of the Mississippi

I swung out over the choppy waves
on a rope tied to a weird-branched tree.

A long, giant, sea green barge
carried dark red table-sized boxes
up the river.

The waves slammed against
the bow of the barge as
I departed for home.

Now I am here again!
